Solar Eclipse and Mothers This Weekend, Hmmm.

The Moon, Mother's and Astrology, too.
Hello,

For those of you who may be busy with other things, we have our bi-annual solar eclipse that happened Friday.  That means the moon passes between us and the sun blocking the sun's light for part of the day. Depending on where you are in the world you could see the shadow crossing the sun.  Not for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere - this is more for our Australian and New Zealanders.  Hello down under!

I find it fascinating that the moon, which symbolizes the feminine in Hand Analysis and Astrology is getting play time right before Mother's day. Eclipses can make tempers flare, and bring emotions (the moon) into the forefront.

Forewarned is forearmed, don't you think?  For those of you planning family time, know that almost everyone feels the effects of these celestial events.  After all the term lunacy was coined after doctors noticed the lunar cycles affected the inpatients of the insane asylum.

Our bodies have rhythms that work with our natural surroundings so whether we are conscious of it or not, it works in us and on us.  So knowing people may be more emotional this weekend, prepare yourself in a manner that soothes and comforts you!  It could help avoid some unpleasantness.

The breathing technique I shared last week is an excellent little tool to take with you into any situation. You can quietly breathe through your emotions without anyone even knowing you are doing it.

Meanwhile it might be fun to focus on comparing hands!  I did this recently again with my Mom and we had a good laugh over the fact that we had some unique characteristics in common as well as a couple that were just our own.  Our first fingers are turned almost 45 degrees towards our middle finger, something no one else in the family has.  The laugh was around our leadership tactics in our personal lives which will remain our family secret.

This might be a good time to remind you that more straight lines on a hand means the person wants to get results, get to the point and get where they are going quickly.  More curved lines in the hand means these people enjoy the whole experience and rather than rushing they wish to take in the sights, sounds, feelings of the experience.

The shorter the line the more impatient the person can be, you know who you are!  Perhaps it will be fun for you to see who has what in their hand this Mother's Day - it may be a way to steer the conversation in a less stressful directions and make sense of some family dynamics while you are at it.

With the eclipse in Aries in the Vedic Calendar and Taurus in the Western Astrology, the focus is on who we are and what have that we value.  Aries is the discovery of "I Am" and Taurus is the understanding of "I Have".

Where do those two themes play out in your lives?  HMMM...Just a little extra  something to think on as well.

Eclipses can make people feel very sluggish and slow.  It is a time that historically called for some quiet reflection and pause.  Maybe you can squeeze some of that in this weekend?  You have a valid reason and your body and emotions may run more evenly with a little bit of a breather!

So to all the Mom's out there, Happy Mother's Day and thank you!  To all the children out there, give yourself a little of your own mothering, too.  Be kind to you, take a moment and reflect on who you are and what you have in life.  It's more than you think... I know - I see it in your hands all the time.

All the best,

Lisa Greenfield
