Hello,

We are arriving at that very interesting end date.  What I find so fascinating is that the Mayan prediction was told in a story about a battle between two key characters and then a serpent is added for additional danger.  Hollywood movies have little on ancient stories, I'm just saying.

We have a ball court, yes I said ball court; where the final battle plays out.  You may not know but ancient Mayans took their sport seriously.  The losers were put to death! 

Kind of makes today look much more civilized even with the riots following Lakers wins, hmm? 

Well to simplify things there are three key symbols (carved into stone even) a throne, a game ball and the serpent's mouth that are important in the battle between the two gods.  Well these symbols also happen to describe what happens in the sky on the Winter Solstice of 2012.

The lesson behind the story is that Ego is defeated and loses its head/life in the mouth of the serpent.  For those of you who have been reading along this year with me - death of the ego is what's up. 

The good news is details show us how what is devoured in the end of one count is reborn in transformed shape into the light of the New Year.

Now so many of you that I have talked with, emailed or worked with have already been experiencing that in one form or another. 

The struggle to let go of the old is intense for many and uncomfortable for even more.  We get attached to what we do, how we do it and who we do it with - it's our limited sense of self at play. 

It's hard to let go of something when you don't have another something, someone or a sense of security to replace it.  So we struggle with the loss as our brains protective instincts.

We do have limits.  However a lifetime of reading hands and peeking into your lives has shown me just how true the observation is about us using roughly 10-15% of our brain power. 

It's a matter of us expanding our patterns in place since childhood, the ones that serve to protect us as helpless mammals. 

Our security systems overestimate loss and underestimates us because we have a child's view when our brain's security system is set.

So if you don't go in and consciously re-set it, trauma and drama do it for us.  However, those carry a serious backlash and are uncomfortable, have you noticed? 

Here's the really important thing to note about this coming transformation.  You are stronger with help.  We are drawn to community for a reason.  Some people ahead of us on the learning curve help us stretch and those behind us give us a chance to feel powerful sharing the knowledge we have.

The success rate for people who have a coach, personal trainer, mentor or teacher is close to 85%.  Think Michael Phelps...

The success rate for those of us who try to do it alone?  Well how does 12% sound to you.  Depressing?  I know how you feel.  Ego can trap us into trying to do it all ourselves.

When you set those goals, make those plans and dream bigger dreams - you are meant to have them!  Give yourself the luxury of a support team to get there - aren't your worth it?

I've invested in my own coach.  It is powerful to put a stake in the ground and say, this is for me - I'm worth my time and my effort and my money.  I'm changing and I require help to get where I know I am meant to be!

What's funny is that when you ask for help, not only do you get it, but you get more success when you surrender some of your ego around doing it yourself. 

Sounds like a 'duh' moment, but I've struggled coming to it.  I had a thousand reasons why I could and should be able to 'do this'.  Some of you have struggled as well.  Say hello to our security system. 

We benefit tremendously from believing eyes around us.  Humans are mostly social creatures, haven't you noticed?  Look at what we use our technology for, hmm? 

Intimacy and vulnerability are carefully avoided by most even though it is desired by almost all of us.  When you have someone dedicated to helping you it is a vulnerable place to be.  Choose wisely what feels right for you, share and expand with less ego and I promise you, the trade off is powerful!

We have a new year and a whole new Mayan calendar unfolding and guess what?  There are no hands on the clock, no dates on the calendar. 

What comes next truly is WHAT WE MAKE OF IT.  This time it is up to us to create the life, the world, the story we want to live out. What makes me so sure is that over 1,000 years ago the most precise mathematicians in history predicted the exact astrological lineup that is occurring right now.  If they can get that detail right, I believe them when they write the story is ours to tell.
